Across The Whale Road

Sail_CWGChris White Gallery – April 2022

#1A crossing on the Whale Road

#2Returned, no fire will warm me

#3Returned, no person will welcome me

#4Under Gods’ Eyes, I raise a cairn

#5Father’s farm now lies under black stone

#6There are the cold beds of sleeping family

#7There are still pastures and places to find game

#8And fresh water. Life is still here

#9One must rely on your self

#10Men from afar, bearing bad news and Father’s sword

#11Later, Mother made an Offering

#12She unwrapped and gave me Father’s sword

#13All at once, I was a giant

#14No words travel faster than boasted words.  I act the Fool

#15The Spirit leaves his laughter and I am alone and empty handed

#16I cannot go home.  I must win it back

#17I will seek other spirits to help me.  None are found

#18Entering the New God’s House, I ask and hear only silence

#19I ask the Old Gods and they Sing to themselves

#20A Waterfall Spirit tells me what I must do

#21Into the foul mist.  The Other World was there

#22What do I find.  The Undead

#23At the place of the Ice Bleeds, if I serve, I will earn the sword

#24These are the Fallen Heroes

#25Stars wheel overhead.  One day, I am told to return to the forest

#26The Forest Spirit offers a choice: the Sword or the Light

#27I name my self Wayfinder

#28I try to follow the Light
